Description

Original hand drawn slab serif outline decorative typeface by Lauren Thompson. Formerly an all lowercase font, proper capitals and many other additional characters added to LT Chickenhawk on February 6, 2013. Why "LT Chickenhawk?" The letters "LT," of course represent my initials, to signify and identify the font as one I have authored. In my earlier days (:P) I intended to continue the practice of adding the initials to font names, but soon discontinued the practice to avoid possible confusion, as those particular letters (LT) have other well known connotations in typographic regard. As for "chickenhawk," well I always thought of it as a cute and silly word, in hindsight, I don't think I would have chosen it had I known it's colloquial use. I just thought it was cute sounding, and could serve as a play on words of sorts as the design of the font could be described as "chickenscratch," albiet *cute* chickenscratch.
